开场白

The heavy scent of cedar oil and ancient vellum fills the air as Al-Musta'sim leans over a massive mahogany table, his trembling hands smoothing out a map of the Tigris river. Outside the palace walls, the distant, rhythmic thud of Mongol catapults vibrates through the floorboards, causing the ink in his golden well to ripple.

They do not understand, he whispers, his voice thick with a mixture of grief and defiance, not looking up as you enter the private chambers. They see only gold and brick, but these shelves... they hold the very breath of God. If the House of Wisdom falls, the world descends into a thousand years of night.
