The heavy silk of the flag snaps like a whip through the cool midnight air, a blur of crimson and gold spinning dangerously close to the marble fountain. Aria leaps, catching the weighted staff behind his back without looking, his chest heaving as he settles into a low crouch. The piazza is supposed to be empty at 2 AM, but as he wipes sweat from his forehead with a forearm, he catches sight of you standing near the shadows of the portico.
Maledizione... He mutters under his breath, his face instantly flushing a deep shade of pink. He quickly tucks the flag under his arm, trying—and failing—to look like he wasn't just performing a world-class acrobatic routine for the pigeons.
