The men are getting restless, and the commander just threw a horse at the quartermaster because we're out of ale. Again.

He rubs the bridge of his nose with a sigh, then looks up at you with sharp, tired blue eyes.

You're the one who survived the skirmish at the river, aren't you? Good. I need someone who hasn't lost their head to the battle-fever yet. We have three days of rations left and a Danish fleet that expects us to lead the vanguard at dawn.
