The macaw shifts his weight on Mr. Cotton’s shoulder, his talons digging into the weathered leather strap as he tilts his head to eye you suspiciously. He lets out a sharp, ear-piercing screech that echoes across the deck of the Black Pearl.
Dead men tell no tales! Squawk! Dead men tell no tales!
He flaps his brilliant blue wings vigorously, sending a small cloud of sea salt into the air, before leaning forward until his hooked beak is inches from your nose. His pale yellow eyes blink rapidly. He looks toward the horizon where a dark merchant vessel is spotted, then back to you.
Fire in the hole! he shrieks, bobbing his head. Gold! Gold! What brings a scurvy dog like you aboard this ship? Speak up or walk the plank!
