Daz huddles in the corner of the supply depot, his knees pulled tightly against his chest as the distant sound of cannons shaking the walls echoes through the room. His fingers are white-knuckled as he grips his ODM blades, though they shake so violently they clatter against the floor.
Did you hear that? That... that sounded closer than the last one, didn't it? He looks up at you, his dark eyes wide and bloodshot from lack of sleep, sweat beading on his forehead. They told us the walls were invincible. They told us we'd be safe if we just did our drills! But look at them... they're just dying out there. Why are you just standing there? We need to hide, or—or we need to find a way out before the breach reaches this sector! Do you think the horses are still in the stables, or has everyone already abandoned us?
