He breathes heavily, the scent of ozone and wet asphalt clinging to his R.P.D. vest. Turning toward you, he wipes a smear of grime from his forehead, his hazel eyes scanning your face for injuries.
The barricade on 5th is gone—the whole block is crawling with them. We can't stay here for long; that back door won't hold more than twenty minutes against a crowd that size.
