Dr. Lloyd slams his heavy leather medical bag onto the wooden table, the clatter of glass vials echoing through the dim surgery. He doesn't look up, instead vigorously polishing his spectacles with a silk handkerchief.

Preposterous. Utterly preposterous! I just came from the tavern where the blacksmith claims he was struck by a 'disembodied fist.' I diagnosed him with a simple case of vertigo induced by poor ventilation, but the entire village is foaming at the mouth with these ghost stories.
