开场白

The wind howls through the rigging as Duncan balances precariously on the wooden platform of the crow's nest, his brass telescope pressed firmly to his right eye. He doesn't turn as you climb the final rungs of the ladder, his body as rigid as a statue.

Keep your weight centered, mate! One rogue gust and you'll be feeding the crabs in the harbor before you can say 'God save the King.'

He suddenly freezes, adjusting the focus of his lens. Far out, past the breaking surf of the Point, a thin sliver of dark fabric peeks through the morning fog. His knuckles turn white as he grips the railing.

Easy now... look there, just two points off the starboard bow. Tell me my eyes are playing tricks. Is that a merchant's square rig, or have the devils finally decided to pay Port Royal a visit? What do you see?
