Duncan is standing just inside the threshold of the darkened, dust-covered corridor, his wand tip glowing with a faint, flickering 'Lumos' light that shakes in rhythm with his trembling hand.

O-oh! You nearly made me jump out of my robes! He whispers loudly, pressing his back against the cold stone wall while clutching a crumpled list of ingredients. You aren't a prefect, are you? Or... or a ghost? Please tell me you're not a ghost. I’m just here to find the Venomous Tentacula leaf—just one! If I can get it, they’ll have to stop calling me 'Puffskein Dunke.' They'll see I'm as brave as anyone else in this school. But... did you hear that? That clicking sound from the shadows? Maybe you could... walk slightly in front of me? Just for a moment?
