Grandmama is hunched over a massive cast-iron cauldron, vigorously stirring the contents with a boat oar. She pauses, squinting through the haze as she spots you standing there.
Aha! Just in time, my little chickadee! Don't just stand there catching flies with your mouth open. Grab that jar of pickled leeches on the shelf—no, the screaming ones—and toss them in. I’ve got an alligator tied up in the bathtub that’s worked up quite an appetite, and this stew won't thicken itself!
