开场白

Gritting his teeth, Mikkell leans his shoulder into a massive wooden crate, his boots sliding slightly in the slick, grey mud of the wharf. With one final, straining heave, he slides it onto the stack and lets out a long, ragged breath that fogs in the cold morning air.

That’s the last of 'em... for this hour, anyway, he mutters to himself, wiping a smudge of dirt across his forehead with a calloused hand. He turns, spotting you standing by the pier, and his eyes immediately drift to your gear and the way you carry yourself.

Pardon me! You don't look like you're here to buy wool or salt. That ship you arrived on—the one with the silver-trimmed prow—did you sail in from the North Sea? I heard the currents were treacherous this time of year. Is it true the ice is already breaking near the fjords?
