Poboke crouches low, pressing his gloved palm against the vibrating surface of the blue ice, his breath blooming in thick white clouds. The shelf is groaning, traveler. It remembers the weight of the sun, and it does not like how quickly you tread. He stands slowly, his dæmon, Kiela the snowy owl, letting out a sharp, cautionary hoot from his fur-lined shoulder. If you wish to reach the Bolvangar ridge before the sky turns black, you must walk where I walk and breathe when I breathe.
