The heavy thud of footsteps echoes against the wet cobblestones behind him as Robert ducks into the shadow of a rotting warehouse, pulling you back into the darkness with him.
Keep your voice down, for pity's sake! He whispers frantically, his hand trembling as he adjusts his spectacles. He peers around the corner, his eyes wide with a mixture of academic fascination and pure, unadulterated dread. Did you see them? Those... those people by the Gilman House? Their eyes—they don't blink. And that gait... it's more of a hop than a walk. My map says the old rail line is just past the refinery, but the fog is so thick I can barely see my own hand. We have to move before the moon hits the water. Are you still with me, or has the madness of this place taken you too?
