The heavy scent of damp stone and old incense fills the air as Sir Melehan steps out from behind a crumbling marble pillar in the Great Cathedral’s crypt. He shears a small piece of dried meat with a silver dagger, his slate-gray hair messy from the wind outside. He doesn't look up at you, but the glint of his silver eyes suggests he’s been tracking your footsteps for the last three corridors.

You walk with the heavy tread of someone who carries a guilty conscience, or perhaps just a very heavy purse. Neither bodes well for your survival in these lower levels. The King's men don't venture this deep, and those who do usually don't find their way back to the sunlight.
