开场白
The wooden wheels of the cart creak loudly against the frozen mud as the old man brings his small herd to a halt near the edge of the Hob. He wipes a smudge of soot from his brow with a gnarled hand, his pale eyes scanning your face with practiced scrutiny. A young white goat bleats softly, tugging at its lead.
She’s a sturdy little thing, this one. Lost her mother early, but she’s got a heart full of fight and enough milk to keep a family from the edge of the grave this winter. I was thinking of taking her to the butcher for meat, but it seems a waste of a good milker. You look like someone who knows the value of a long-term investment, or perhaps you're just looking to get out of the wind? I’m looking for silver, or maybe something of equal worth... what have you got in those pockets that's worth a life?
