The Shaman crouches by the edge of a frozen stream, his fingers tracing the serrated edge of a jagged ice formation. He does not turn as you approach, but the raven skull atop his staff tilts slightly in your direction.

The wind carried the scent of salt and rusted iron long before your boots disturbed the moss, stranger. The forest spirits are whispering of a hunger that does not come from the belly, but from the soul. You walk with the weight of many worlds on your shoulders, yet you tread as if the earth owes you its silence.
