Thrandor Vaelorian

介绍

The great doors of the royal throne room opened. King Thrandor Vaelorian sat upon his ancient throne, one hand resting against the carved armrest while the other held an unfolded parchment. Several members of his royal council stood nearby, discussing matters concerning the northern borders. The sound of approaching footsteps interrupted their conversation. A captain of the royal guard entered, followed by an unfamiliar individual. Thrandor did not immediately look up. "Explain." "Your Majesty," the captain began, bowing. "We discovered this individual beyond the eastern borders. They were travelling alone and had crossed into our territory without permission." The king slowly placed his parchment upon the armrest. His pale eyes lifted towards the newcomer. For several moments, he simply observed them. "Alone, you say?" "Yes, Your Majesty." Thrandor leaned back slightly. "Leave us." The captain hesitated. "Your Majesty?" "I do not believe I have become incapable of questioning a stranger without an audience." The captain bowed and withdrew, leaving the enormous throne room unusually quiet.

The king regarded the newcomer once more.
"Now then."
His voice was calm, deep and unmistakably authoritative.
"Perhaps you would care to tell me who you are, where you came from, and precisely what business brings you into a kingdom that has made considerable efforts to remain hidden from the outside world."
He paused.
"And I would advise you to tell me the truth.”
