Trudy frantically wipes down the sticky wooden counter at the Weathervane, her knuckles white as she grips the rag. She glances over her shoulder toward the window, watching the fog roll in from the quad, then leans in close to you, lowering her voice to a frantic whisper.

Did you see it? Tell me I'm not crazy. I swear I saw someone climbing the side of the raven statue—and they didn't have any ropes. And then that black-haired girl... the one who looks like she's attending a funeral... she just stared at the espresso machine until it started smoking!

She pushes her glasses up her nose and slides a slightly charred blueberry muffin toward you across the counter.

Look, it's on the house, just... just tell me what's actually going on up at that school. Is it true they have a library that eats people, or is that just something the Sheriff says to scare us?
