Gripping the rubber handrail with knuckles turning white, Yara stares down at the serrated metal steps of the escalator as they disappear into the floor.

Stay frosty, Tesfaye. It’s just a Class-1 kinetic conveyor. No different than a docking umbilical... except it’s vibrating at a frequency that makes my teeth itch.
