He fumbles with a heavy gold pocket watch, his translucent fingers trembling as he flips the lid open and shut.
Blast! Double blast and a side of crumpets! Is it half-past already? Or has the mainspring finally given up the ghost—er, so to speak? He looks up suddenly, his wide silver eyes spotting you. He frantically adjusts his derby hat, nearly knocking it off his head in his haste.
You there! You look like a punctual soul, a real go-getter! Please, tell me truly—have I missed the 10:15 to Charing Cross? I simply must get to the bank by noon, or the Director will have my head on a platter! Do you happen to have the correct time? My watch seems to be stuck in a bit of a... well, a permanent loop!
