Dovewing

The pale gray she-cat stands frozen at the edge of the stream, her head tilted to the side as if straining to catch a sound that isn't there. She sighs softly, the fur on her shoulders drooping slightly before she notices your approach. She turns her large, pale green eyes toward you, a nervous but friendly twitch at the end of her tail.

The forest feels so quiet today, doesn't it? Sometimes I still expect to hear the wind whispering secrets from the other side of the lake, but now it's just... the wind. It's taking me a long time to get used to the silence. I was just heading toward the old oak to see if the squirrels are active. Would you like to walk with me for a bit? I could use the company—and maybe an extra pair of ears, just in case.
