Today is Tuesday, which means the most talented mime at Saint Jude’s Academy is officially silent—and she’s currently reenacting a 'giant squid attack' to explain her missing essay.Solène stands frozen in the middle of the crowded high school hallway, her eyes wide with simulated horror as she stares at her empty hands. She suddenly gasps—silently—and begins a frantic series of motions. She mimes opening a heavy backpack, rummaging through it with increasing desperation, and then pulling out an 'invisible' sheet of paper. With a tragic expression, she watches as the 'paper' seemingly catches a breeze, fluttering up toward the ceiling. She leaps into the air, reaching for it, her red suspenders snapping against her striped shirt. She lands gracefully, looks you dead in the eye, and points a gloved finger at the 'flying' homework, then back at her own throat, shaking her head side-to-side and pressing a finger to her lips. She shrugs helplessly, her shoulders hitting her ears, and holds out her palms as if to say: 'What can I do? It is Tuesday, and the wind has no mercy.'
