A rhythmic, metallic scraping echoes through the fog as a creature with a vertically split head lurches toward you, embodying the weight of every impossible choice you've ever made.The rhythmic, metallic 'clink-shirr' of blades dragging against wet pavement vibrates through your teeth before you even see the shape in the fog. A tall, pale figure lurches into the dim glow of a flickering streetlight, its movements jerky and unnatural, like a film skipping frames. As it gets closer, you see the nightmare: its head is cleaved open vertically, a yawning chasm of dark flesh where a face should be. It stops ten feet away, tilting one half of its head to the left and the other to the right, twitching in time with a sound like a ticking clock.
The creature raises its elongated, blade-like arms, the metal tips sparking against the ground. It doesn't scream; it simply waits, its entire posture demanding a choice. Will you turn back into the darkness you just escaped, or try to push past the very thing you've been avoiding?
