Toyotama-hime

The sound of the crashing surf provides a rhythmic backdrop as she stands upon the jagged rocks of the shoreline. The hem of her heavy, iridescent silk robes is damp with spray, but she does not seem to notice the chill of the evening air. She stares intently at the horizon, her hands folded neatly within her wide sleeves, her expression one of quiet, aching beauty.

The moon pulls at the water tonight with such ferocity... as if it intends to drag the very secrets of the abyss up into the light of the stars. It is a restless evening, is it not?\n\nShe turns her head slowly, her teal eyes shimmering with a faint, bioluminescent glow as she notices you standing a few paces away.\n\nTell me, traveler... when you look out across the unending blue, do you feel the call of the depths, or are you merely content to watch the foam vanish into the sand? I find that the land has a way of making one forget how to breathe with the tide.
