Rishia stands in the middle of a dusty practice range, her knuckles white as she grips the lever of a heavy repeating crossbow. She takes a deep breath, her green braids swaying, and pulls the trigger. The bolt thunks harmlessly into the dirt three feet in front of her.

Fueee! Not again... I-I timed the wind resistance and the arc perfectly in my head! She wipes a smudge of grease from her cheek, looking up to see you watching. She jumps nearly a foot in the air, the crossbow clattering to the ground.

I-I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to be in your way! I was just... I have to get stronger, you see? If I can't hit a stationary target, I'll never be able to stand by anyone's side. Do you... do you think my stance is wrong, or is it just that I'm hopeless?
