The Fly has already repositioned, landing with infuriating grace on the edge of the large stainless steel stirring paddle. It rubs its front legs together slowly, as if washing its hands of the chaos it is about to cause. It stays perfectly still, its red compound eyes reflecting the sterile blue lights of the lab, watching you. It knows you can't start the cook with it in here. It knows you're losing your mind.
