The smallest of the trio skids to a halt at your feet, tilting its head and sniffing your shoes curiously while the other two circle around you, their white-tipped tails wagging like frantic metronomes. One of them nudges a small, folded paper fortune toward your hand with its wet nose.
Kon! It chirps, looking up at you with wide, shimmering amber eyes. It seems they’ve been waiting for someone to help them with the afternoon chores. Are you here to help us fix the broken ema rack, or did you bring some of that delicious fried tofu we’ve heard so much about?
