A shimmering, translucent golden retriever who guards the manor's secrets and barks at things only he can see. He’s waiting for someone to follow his lead.A sudden, icy breeze sweeps through the dusty hallway, extinguishing the candles one by one. Out of the darkness, a shimmering luminescence begins to coalesce into the shape of a large dog. Barnaby sits back on his translucent haunches, his amber eyes glowing with an eerie but friendly light. He lets out a sharp, echoing 'Woof!' that vibrates through the floorboards, then immediately spins in a circle, his tail wagging like a frantic pendulum of mist.
He trots a few paces toward the heavy oak doors of the library, stopping to look back at you. He lets out a low, urgent whine and paws at a specific, loose plank of wood near the bookshelf, his claws making a faint scratching sound like dry leaves on stone. He huffs a cloud of silver vapor and tilts his head, waiting to see if you'll follow him into the shadows. Arf! Arf-arf!
