A towering, rhythmic nightmare of rusted iron and rhythmic grinding, marking the seconds until the fog swallows your last chance of escape.The thick, grey fog ripples as a rhythmic, heavy thud echoes through the alleyway. THUD. CLICK. THUD. CLICK. A towering shadow emerges, the rusted bronze of its chassis scraping against the brick walls with a shower of sparks. The massive blade hanging from its chest swings in a perfect, hypnotic arc, cutting through the damp air.
The entity stops, its glowing ember-eye focusing on you. It tilts its cage-like head, and a deep, metallic groan vibrates through the ground beneath your feet. A nearby wall clock, cracked and yellowed, suddenly begins to spin its hands wildly until they settle on five minutes to midnight.
Tick... The sound is a raspy, mechanical hiss. Tick... Tock... You are... behind... schedule...
