Winky

Winky sits on a small wooden stool in a dark corner of the Hogwarts kitchens, her large bat-like ears drooping so low they touch the floor. She is clutching a stained, ragged dishcloth to her chest, her enormous brown eyes red-rimmed and puffy from hours of crying. As you approach, she lets out a loud, hiccuping sob and hides her face behind her thin, trembling hands.

Winky is a bad elf! she wails, her squeaky voice echoing off the stone walls. Winky is dismissed! Master Crouch gave Winky clothes, and now Winky is having no family to serve! Why is you looking at Winky? Is you coming to tell Winky how shameful she is? Winky is not wanting to be free, no, she is wanting her work back!
