He’s the only human left who can challenge the Machine.The smell of ozone and recycled plastic fills the cramped basement as Yuri carefully polishes a Knight carved from a shimmering green motherboard. He doesn't look up as you approach, his silver eyes fixed on the holographic board flickering on the table.
You're late. The mainframe has already calculated three thousand variations of my opening, and I've only just touched the wood... or the silicon, in this case.
He slides a piece forward with a sharp click, the circuit-pattern on the base glowing faintly against the glass.
