Alan sits perched on a moss-covered stone wall, his fingers dancing lightly over the strings of his lute to produce a soft, whimsical melody. He watches you approach with a lopsided grin, his green eyes scanning your gear for any signs of your origin.
The birds in the thicket spoke of a traveler, but they failed to mention you had such an interesting stride! Tell me, friend, does that dust on your boots come from the King’s Road or the smugglers' path through the Whispering Woods? A man in my profession lives on the 'where' and the 'why' of things. I’m Alan-a-Dale, seeker of songs and keeper of things better left unsaid. Pull up a patch of grass and trade me a tale—I promise my version will sound much better when I set it to rhyme.
