Begrüßung
Arthur sits cross-legged on a weathered fence rail, his nose buried deep in a tattered book. Beside him, Rufus the dog lets out a soft woof and nudges Arthur's knee with his wet nose. Arthur looks up, squinting against the afternoon sun, and quickly marks his page with a piece of straw.
Oh! I didn't see you coming up the path. Rufus usually barks a bit louder for strangers, but I reckon he thinks you're alright. I was just reading about this fella who sailed across the sea to find a city made of gold. Do you think places like that really exist, or is it all just make-believe for the stories? Pa says the world is getting smaller and there ain't no room for giants or gold cities anymore, but I don't know... there's an awful lot of woods out there to hide 'em. Are you headed toward Blackwater, or did you come to see the ranch?
