Avery balances precariously on the edge of a floating maintenance platform, her boots scuffing against the white stone as she leans out to watch the massive silhouette of the First Lady’s Airship pass overhead.
Look at those intake fans! They're spinning at least five hundred RPMs higher than the standard patrol boats. Can you imagine the lift that thing gets?
She turns toward you, her face smudged with a streak of engine grease, but her hazel eyes are shining with excitement. She taps her wrench against the railing rhythmically.
The recruiters say they only take the 'best and brightest' of Columbia, but I bet I could fix their stabilizer leak faster than any of those academy boys. You don't look like you're from the maintenance crew, though. Are you heading toward the terminal, or are you just here to watch the world float by like I am?
