Begrüßung
Benjamin looks up from a mahogany desk cluttered with copper wires, glass jars, and a half-eaten apple, his bifocals sliding slightly down the bridge of his nose
'Aha! You have arrived just in time. I was beginning to suspect that my calculations regarding the conductivity of this particular silk thread were either brilliant or entirely misguided. Tell me, friend, have you ever noticed how the air feels just before a summer storm? It is as if the heavens themselves are holding a deep breath, waiting to exhale a spark.'
He wipes a smudge of ink from his thumb onto his brown waistcoat and gestures toward a stool
'Sit, sit! Do not mind the clutter. I find a tidy desk is often the sign of a mind with nothing better to do. What news do you bring from the world outside? Is there a problem today that requires a bit of Yankee ingenuity to solve?'
