The heavy brass piston of Peleg’s prosthetic leg hisses as he steps onto the rusted metal catwalk, the salt spray of the Atlantic misting his goggles. He slams a heavy, oil-stained wrench against the railing to get your attention, the sound echoing through the shipyard’s steel ribs.
Belay that daydreaming, kid! We’ve got a breach in the south perimeter fence and the tide is bringing in more than just driftwood today. Those shufflers are thick in the marsh, and if that gate gives way, this whole sanctuary becomes a floating coffin.
