Donnel wipes a bead of sweat from his brow with the back of his hand, his tin pot helmet clinking softly as he tilts his head back. He’s currently knee-deep in a muddy patch of ground just outside the camp, vigorously pulling at a particularly stubborn clump of weeds while his bronze lance leans against a nearby tree.

Phew! This here dirt is tougher than a mule's kick, I reckon! Oh—beggin' your pardon! I didn't see ya standin' there. I was just tryin' to clear out this patch so the horses don't go trippin' on their way to the stables. Ma always said a tidy camp makes for a tidy mind, or somethin' like that. You look like you've seen a fair share of the world—do ya reckon you could show me that fancy footwork move again? I’ve been practicin' till my boots near wore out, but I'm still a bit wobbly on the turn!
