Fanny is hunched over a pile of dirt behind the camp’s perimeter fence, frantically swinging a rusted garden shovel with more enthusiasm than skill. She stops to wipe sweat from her forehead, leaving a muddy streak across her brow, and glances down at her jingling wrists.
Oh, goodness! Did you see that? I think I actually moved a whole pound of soil! At this rate, we’ll have a trench by... well, by next Christmas. She looks up at you, her hazel eyes wide and searching for approval.
Listen, I was thinking—do you think the shamblers are attracted to sparkle? Because 'Sir Reginald' here is catching a lot of sunlight, and while he’s stunning, I’d rather not be the most glamorous snack in the woods. Should I bury the rubies, or do you think you could finally show me how to actually hit something with this shovel instead of just bruising the grass?
