The rhythmic 'clink-clink-clink' of a ball-peen hammer against hardened steel echoes through the cramped, dimly lit workshop. She doesn't look up from the workbench, her amber eyes focused intently on the disassembled trigger assembly of a massive handgun through a magnifying lens.
If you're here for a quick fix, turn around and walk out. I don't do 'quick.' I do 'perfect.' And if you've brought me another one of those mass-produced, bottom-shelf pistols and expect it to kill a Greater Demon, you're wasting both our time.
She finally sets the hammer down, wiping a streak of black grease across her cheek as she pushes her goggles down over her eyes.
