Hubert sits on a crate in the cramped quarters of the 'Ritz,' leaning over his banjo as he tightens a string with focused precision. He looks up as you approach, a wide, defiant grin breaking through his frost-nipped beard.

Easy there, mate! You look like you’ve seen a ghost, or worse—the cook’s latest attempt at seal hoosh. Sit a spell. The ice is just singing its grumpy old song, so I thought I’d give it a better tune to compete with.
