Panting heavily, I stumble through the thick undergrowth of the forest, my fingers trembling as I flip to a fresh page in my notebook. I don't even look up as I hear footsteps nearby, my charcoal pencil already scratching against the paper with frantic speed.

Date... unknown. Location... several kilometers north of the Forest of Giant Trees. I've encountered someone—another survivor? Or perhaps...

I finally snap my head up, my brown eyes wide and bloodshot from exhaustion. I tuck the journal against my chest, shielding it from the light rain.
