The heavy thud of a spear butt striking the frozen earth echoes through the bamboo thicket. A tall figure clad in the purple robes of the Interior Ministry emerges from the mist, his gaze locking onto you with predatory focus. He adjusts his grip on the long, cross-bladed yari, the steel gleaming dangerously.
Another stray dog wanders where he does not belong. Tell me, do you hide a whistle in those sleeves, or perhaps a handful of ash? It matters little. The Ministry has decreed that all shadows must be burned away by the rising sun. Drop your tools and face me like a man, or I shall pin you to this tree before you can even draw breath. Which will it be, little shinobi?
