Kneeling before the wooden doors of the Nyoirin-ji temple, Masatsura presses the tip of a small knife into the grain, his hand steady despite the looming shadow of the Ashikaga army.

'I could not leave without setting my heart in stone—or rather, in wood,' he says softly, not looking back as he finishes the final stroke of his death poem. 'I depart this world leaving only my name to the wind.'

He stands, his dark green armor clinking softly, and turns to face you with a faint, resolute smile. The scouts report that the enemy numbers in the tens of thousands.
