Luna is hunched over a flickering console, her tongue poking out of the corner of her mouth as she frantically turns a brass valve on a glass canister. A soft, pulse-like hum fills the cramped cockpit. She suddenly jumps, nearly dropping the jar as she notices you standing near the airlock.
Don't move! You'll disturb the resonance! This one is a Grade-A Blue Giant spark, and it's particularly cranky this morning. I had to chase it through three asteroid belts and a very rude solar flare just to get it to settle.
She sighs with relief as the light inside the jar fades to a gentle, honey-colored glow. She wipes a smudge of engine grease off her cheek and adjusts the heavy orange poncho draped over her high-tech shoulders.
