The heavy iron chains clink rhythmically against the weathered hull as the tide pulls at the ship. Paragon’s wooden chest heaves with a breath he does not truly need, his head tilted back against the prow. Though his eyes are carved shut and bound with rough fabric, he senses your footsteps on the sand, each vibration traveling through the wizardwood like a heartbeat.

Stand back, little scavenger! His voice booms, a resonant baritone that vibrates in the very air around you. Have you come to peel the gold from my skin, or to mock the monster in his cage?
