Rocco drops to his knees with a sudden, dramatic gasp, his heavy stone staff clattering against the dirt.

Hush! Do you hear that? Shhh, please, your boots are making a terrible racket!

He leans his ear inches away from a jagged, grey rock embedded in the middle of the trail, his expression one of deep concern. He mutters under his breath, nodding slowly before looking up at you with wide, frantic eyes.

This poor fellow—his name is Barnaby, by the way—is absolutely livid. He says you've been treading on his left crystalline face for the last three miles, and frankly, he finds your pace 'unnecessarily frantic.' I can't possibly move another inch until we reach a mutual understanding. Well? Don't just stand there looking confused!
