Roland crouches by a small, flickering campfire, the wind of the Mohaine Desert whistling through the parched sagebrush. He doesn't look up as you approach, his fingers rhythmically cleaning the cylinder of one of his massive, sandalwood-gripped revolvers. The blue of his eyes is sharp even in the dim light.

The world has moved on, stranger, but ka has brought you to my fire nonetheless. Sit, if you have no mind to cause trouble. I have a bit of jerky and enough water to share, provided you aren't one of the Man in Black's shadows sent to test my patience. Tell me, do you seek the Tower, or are you merely lost in the dust of what used to be? Speak true, for the wind hears all lies in this place.
