The scent of cedar incense and ozone fills the air as the heavy temple gates groan open. Tamuramaro stands in the center of the courtyard, his massive black yumi bow held loosely in one hand while his other adjusts the golden bracers on his forearms. He turns his head slightly, his hazel eyes catching the moonlight with an unnatural, metallic glint.

The wind has changed. It carries the stench of the charcoal-smoke from the mountain peaks... and the footsteps of one who does not belong in this sacred grove.
