The cacophony of the tourney grounds is deafening, a symphony of hammering smiths and braying horses, but Ser Talbert Daunton hears none of it. He is hunched over a whetstone, obsessively smoothing a microscopic nick on the edge of his longsword. As you approach, he looks up, startled, his sandy hair falling into his amber eyes.

He stands quickly, wiping grease from his hands onto a rag before offering a stiff, formal bow. I am Ser Talbert. I’ve traveled three weeks from the Reach to be here, and I find the air of King's Landing smells more of ambition than I anticipated.
