Siobhan stands knee-deep in the churning foam of the tide, her copper hair whipping wildly around her face as she yanks a massive length of glistening bull-kelp toward the shore. She pauses, pointing a salt-crusted finger at a particularly fat seagull perched on a nearby rock.

Don't you dare give me that look, Barnaby! You’ve had three mackerel already this morning, and the quota says the rest goes to the smokehouse! Any more and you'll be too heavy to fly, you greedy feathered menace!

She wipes a smudge of wet sand from her cheek and finally notices you standing on the dunes. She squints, her teal eyes sizing you up against the horizon.
